Why Pier1 imports® Uses PromptPerformance™
In 2014, Pier1 imports® challenged us at Prompt Inc. to take on their Store Manager Performance Review process. While they were already using PromptPayPlanner® to streamline and modernize their salary planning and some incentive processes, they had a very manual Microsoft Word document template that they used for their performance review form/process. Although functional as far as forms go, the process didn’t integrate with email or other notification systems, and it required a significant amount of time and coordination for managers and employees to manage when they could all fill in specific parts of the forms.
With a company as large as Pier1 imports®, the effort being spent on their manual performance review process resulted in a lot of wasted time. Russ Phillips, Director - Compensation & HRIS, wanted to modernize the process, and searched for a solution that was cost effective and leveraged their existing processes wherever possible. They selected PromptPerformance®, Prompt Inc.’s new performance review software, to link the performance process with the salary planning process. The key was having the flexibility to mimic the existing form, provide French and English languages, all in a simple interface with streamlined notification and reporting processes. The result was a complete aesthetic redesign to Pier1’s Performance Review process, with a branded and modernized workflow to reflect the new capabilities and features available, all while keeping the original functionality and purpose of their old forms.
