How long has this product been in use?Prompt>, Inc. incorporated in 1988 as a specialist in Human Resource Information Systems. Clients varying needs led to several versions of PromptPayPlanner during the mid 1990’s. The current version available today was initially developed in 2003 with particular attention paid to security and a modular design that can easily accommodate your requirements.
What query and reporting tools are available for knowledgeable users?There are several tools available. Our Query tool allows you to select employees based on criteria for any column of information. Our Create a Report feature allows you to select columns for a simple report or for exporting out to a spreadsheet. The Report Generator is a fully featured reporting tool, similar to Crystal Reports or MS Access.
What type of Help Assistance is available within PromptPayPlanner? Is user training required?On screen Help is available and can be modified by any designated PromptPayPlanner Administrator. In addition, a User Manual is available for viewing on screen and printing as an Adobe PDF. User training is normally accomplished during training for your compensation program. Our experience shows that new users can log in and be productive with only the on-screen Help assistance available to them.
Can you Model increases and see the effect on expenses?Yes – PromptPayPlanner models the effect of increases immediately as managers enter their salary actions. We’ve gone one step further with our What If feature which is designed for modeling increases for the entire employee population. You may create several schemes with comp-a-ratio ranges to estimate the effect of increases on your bottom line. Reports and graphs are available to view the results, providing quick answers to your senior management.

 PromptPayPlanner was envisioned in the mid 90’s at a Fortune 100 property and casualty insurance firm. Departmental and HR managers sharing spreadsheets across the organization recognized that they were behind the technology curve in terms of costs and efficiencies.

While the MS Windows platform was common throughout the organization, cost-effective and reliable enterprise-wide network access was not yet a reality. Remote field offices were islands. The first PromptPayPlanner implementation allowed these managers to enter increases in user-friendly interactive data entry grids and to exchange information in a fraction of the time using encrypted, password-protected floppy disks and FedEx overnight delivery.

After several years, corporate network access was extended to remote offices, and the PromptPayPlanner data exchange module was revised to enable information sharing using our automatic and highly secure encrypted file transfers over-the-wire.

 In 2002, with the adoption of cost-effective and reliable enterprise-wide SQL Server and Oracle database access, PromptPayPlanner was redesigned on a foundation of proprietary database encryption.

In 2006, a comprehensive rewrite delivered a  most comprehensive, real-time, user-friendly interactive data entry grid-based compensation salary planning software system.

Version 6, completed in 2008, includes point-and-click selection and management processes, secure email notifications; optimized and scalable for global organizations of any size.
